I don't know much about who does this and how much they charge. But I have a Samsung Galaxy A8 tablet and the charging port is screwed. Who can I take this to in order to get them to change the charging port around Baton Rouge or Zachary.

On the A8, the charging port is on a separate Daughterboard. You can theoretically DYI for less that $10.

You can always rely on this board to mis-read the skill level of posters. Never fails.

It's in the trash because of this guy. Jesus frick if I would have just taken it somewhere instead of listening to that guy. $300 lesson to not do that shite again and actually find a repair place. I theoretically did that shite for $10 though and that felt good for a minute

Hey, it's not my fault that you over estimated your abilities. I was just giving you options.

I think it was you who overestimated my ability. That's why i asked for a repair shop. I'm not actually upset at all. I just ordered a new tablet last night after I threw the other in the trash. It was fun to watch it implode as I worked on it. Strangely the inside looked nothing like the video which I found strange.

I live in Utah. How would I know about repair shops in BR? Additionally, how would I know ANYTHING about your tech abilities?

When doing anything "risky" in life, people need to assess their own abilities and decide for themselves weather or not the risk is worth any potential reward. I cannot do that for anyone but myself. Is this a project I personally would have taken on? Sure. But I've messed around on the inside of computers, phones, and other electronics for going on 40 years now. But if you've never done anything like this before or you’re not comfortable with it, taking it to a repair shop would have absolutely the correct move. That decision was in your hands, not mine.

It's really not a big deal. I order a new one and go on with life. Appreciate your willingness to help though!
