Could probably do away with the mildly modifier.

You need a connection to the internet to watch Netflix and Sling. This connection can be either wired (direct to modem through ethernet cable) or wireless (WiFi needs a wireless router hooked up to your modem). Guess at this point should also add that if your TV is not a smart TV then you will need a device to run Netflix and Sling on such as Roku, Firebox, etc.

WiFi is just the Internet connection that you pay for from an ISP like AT&T spread wirelessly through your house by something called a WiFi router. You might already have WiFi. Many uverse setups include a modem with WiFi built in. Look for a yellow sticker on the modem they set up to give you Internet access.



SSID is the name of the wireless network you'd look for when setting up your Smart TV.
Wireless Network Key is the password you'll be asked for when you choose that network.

If you have any kids or know anybody under 50 with even a small amount of technical savvy they can probably help you out.
