I need to stream live audio from a Spotify playlist and make it available for others mobile devices to connect to (using their phone or other device's data, not wifi) without much hassle or requiring $, such as a Spotify subscription. What is the easiest way to do this?

Be advised that once you begin doing this you'll be legally responsible for paying licensing fees for "broadcasting" audio content.

Violate several copyright provisions which will subject you to fines significantly higher than, for instance, a Spotify subscription.

How on earth can you type that and not think: "This is illegal"

I don't know if it still works, but the way to answer the original question easily is to run a Shoutcast server, which people can log into on their mobiles.

The legality of the content you broadcast is up to you.

I realize the legality. Is there much risk though? I wouldn't be doing this regularly. Only a few days a year.

I don’t think so, but the anti pirate game is getting pretty sophisticated.

I’m definitely not giving advice on how to marginalize that risk though.

Why would you want to use the same playlist over and over and over agin? Why not just one of the free streaming apps and deal with the ads?

You would just need to find something like Awdio or Mixlr, but some of these will have a cost too.

It's for a specific purpose. I can't have the ads.
