Hello. I am custom building a home in Baton Rouge with a dedicated home theater room and would love to hear about first-hand experiences with home theater companies in the area. Who to use. Who not to use. Any recommendations on cool things to include during the build that I may overlook would also be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Crescendo Audio Video is fantastic. Jeremy is a good guy and super easy to work with.

Stay away from Acadian

Thanks for the reply. Why stay away from Acadian? I saw that a few times in old threads, but no one ever explained why.

I know they did a terrible job on my own bro in laws house and he ended up paying someone else to come in and fix/finish it all

I love how that has ZERO to do with the ask.

Target a company that understands that having someone call them on LSU Saturdays at a minimum is the objective. Call outs are farked.

Not picking at you SG_Geaux, but part of the problem is that the husbands run the laundry lists of crap they want, and the issue of the wife's issue of "I just want to click a button and have it play Hootie" is never conveyed.

I threw my in ceiling speaker setup in the can (with a $2k amp) over this kind of shite.

#1 tip: Have the wife talk to the guy too. Reconcile. Don't blame the A/V company for family strife.

Oh some of that definitely happened but there was a lot of stuff that just didn't work like it was supposed to after multiple visits.

My biggest hangup with getting a company to install it all. I hate relying on someone else for that stuff so I do most of what I can myself. Get them to do all the house/home run wiring, mounting and stuff like that but dont get locked in to something where they are the only ones that can manage the network/HT unless you have no desire to mess with any of it.

That can be a issue for sure altho I wouldn't let the wife talk direct, she may find out the real cost of your "toys".

I have sonos throughout my house for audio because its super easy to use and IMO sounds great. Apply TV setup in the HT so its a one button job to turn on, off, and control the AVR/projector and navigate a familiar landscape (for my wife at least).

I'm glad you are so entertained. What a stupid comment though. It has everything to do with looking for someone. I had a place recommend equipment that was good 5 years ago.

I may be overstepping but I forgot I created this account a while back and happened to login tonight and this was the first post I clicked on.

My name is Jeremy Rasti and I’m the owner of Crescendo in Baton Rouge. Honestly there are some great theater specialists in this town but I would love the opportunity to sit down with you and come up with a plan for your space. We have modest to ultra-premium offerings and everything in between. Additionally, we aren’t the guys that sell you a bill of goods and you never hear from us again. Our differentiator is service after the sale. Just google us we’re easy to find.
