Home Network Setup - Google Wifi

I am a bit of a lurker, and very much a networking newbie, so looking for some guidance.
At our old house, we had an ubuiti edgerouter+an AP due an apartment building being right across the road and causing issues. It was pretty much plug and play (Had to do very little config) and worked great.
When we moved to our new, bigger house we elected for google wifi plugged straight into the modem since I really didn't want to pull wires in this house for AP's.
Anyway, I am working to cut the cord, and since I have plex pass got an antenna+hdhomerun. Since the modem only has 1 port and the wifi was plugged into it, I was out of ports. I thought I could use the edgerouter with google wifi and am running into all sort of issues (double nat, etc.).
So, any suggestions on how I get get all this sorted? I am going down the rabbit hole of configuring this edgerouter, but really I just need something like the switch that will add ports, but not all the fancy configurations, since the google wifi does that.

I would try going modem -> Google puck -> and using the ethernet out port to connect the edgerouter. Configure the edgerouter to run in "switch" mode to disable the routing features.

Sounds you like just need a simple unmanaged switch. It might be possible to turn the Edgerouter into a dumb switch, but I don't know. This might help: https://help.ubnt.com/hc/en-us/articles/217990978-EdgeRouter-Configure-an-EdgeRouter-as-a-Layer-2-Switch
Though that's really wasting a good router.
FYI. Since you're already familiar with Ubiquiti. They make a mesh networking solution too which I've heard lot of good things about. https://www.amplifi.com/

You just need a simple gigabit dumb switch.

If you understand automation, this script will synch your VPN you wish to utilize.

You can buy a good switch for $20 on Amazon. Do that and take the edge router out
