Our Onkyo receiver recently went the way of the dodo after our daughter left a popsicle on top of it. We have surround sound installed in the den area.
Any recommendations on a good receiver? Or can anyone point me in the right direction to find one? Thank you all much in advance

I’ve purchased several refurbished units from Accessories4Less. You get a good value for your money. Some people are leery of refurbished, but I’ve had good experiences.

Of the typical mass produced models: Yamaha, Marantz/Denon, Onkyo, Sony, Pioneer. Each line has a variety of models at various price points. Sound wise they more or less follow the order listed, but that's an individual preference. Best Buy, Amazon or other internet seller.

Get a 5.1 Yamaha and call it a day.

I dropped $2k on a 9.2 Yamaha receiver and $1.5k on an Emotiva amp a few years ago and have never regretted them. And those prices are not even considered exorbitant. Audio is definitely a “you get what you pay for” investment.

What specs you looking for? I have a nice Yamaha Aventage RX-A730 sitting in my closet. Upgraded when I moved last year.

Ive had Denon receivers since 2012. Which model you need all depends on how much you want to spend. Im currently using an AVR-1600H. Supports 7.2, Dual zones, blue tooth etc. Does everything I need it to do and runs around $500. I don't have a very elaborate surround sound system so dropping over a grand on a receiver wouldn't make much sense to me.

Purchased an Onkyo receiver. Worked fine for about 18 months then had trouble with the Bluetooth connection. Had a factory rep repair it. Worked fine for about a month then had trouble with the Bluetooth connection again plus the airplay connection. Done with Onkyo, looking into Denon.
