Help with monitor selection

TLDR: recommend a dual 24” monitor setup for office work (Windows) and photo editing (using MacBook), hopefully under $600.
My wife uses 2 old 17” monitors for her home office. She casually dabbles in photography and use a 13” MacBook Pro currently for editing. Though she says her monitors are fine, I’d like to upgrade them.
I see higher cost monitors are desirable for photo editing, due to improved color accuracy. Two such monitors seems like overkill, but I don’t know if mismatched monitors would be a problem for workday productivity (email, outlook, etc.). I feel like 2x 24” is the number, size I need. Any suggestions?

If you have the space, go bigger. I have dual 23 inch HP monitors, and I'm probably going to have to take them back to the office when we go back. We will still have the option to work from home some days each week, so if they let me keep them at home, I will. But if not, I already have the monitor mounts, and I'll likely go with 27 or larger.

One nice high resolution (like 4k) monitor is better then two 1080p monitors

Any comments on color quality I should focus on? Do I need AdobeRGB?
