Help with B speaker levels - Sony str dh750 receiver

I can't figure this shite out and I'll never buy another Sony receiver after dealing with all of this.
I have a 3.1 setup in my living room. I have two outdoor speakers wired into it as well (assigned as the b speakers). Well in order to hear the music outside I have to have the inside volume loud as shite. I've tried to go in and adjust the levels but it will only let me adjust the 3.1 speakers.
Any help is appreciated.

What model is the Sony receiver?

Str dh750
I've searched the manual and it is confusing as frick and I can't find anywhere to simply adjust the levels of the b speakers. It should be really fricking simple.

Did you go into speakers settings and choose SB Assign and then choose FRONT B speakers?
As an aside, that is one basic receiver. You'd be much better off with a receiver that has a second zone output.

I had the same problem with a different receiver ...solved my problem by switching from "3.1 surround" to regular "stereo" ...hope that helps

I have a similar experience with my Sony receiver. Trying to drive a set of outdoor speakers with the "B" speaker outputs ("A" speakers are 5.1 indoor setup, 1 sub, 1 center, 2 front, 2 surround)
Experienced the same very low B speaker sound levels, never found a solution on that setup.
Ended up using RCA out and getting a dedicated outdoor speaker amp for the 2 outdoor speakers.

Ok, I have the same reciever and have 5 inside and two outside. This is the settings I use and it works great.
Using the AFD/2Ch button
Just Inside - multi channel setting and speaker A
Just Outside 2 channel setting and speaker B
Both - multi channel AB speakers
Took a little while to figure out but I've had mine a few years and love it.

Thanks everyone for the replies. SaintsFan I'll try those settings and see, I generally keep it on the multi stereo setting. It I think the problem lies within the receiver(like the above poster said it's pretty basic). It applies the same settings to the b speakers as the front left/right. This means my slightly smaller, more spread out outdoor speakers will be much quieter.
I guess I'll just live with it for another year until we move. Then I'll probably get a sonos amp to push my outdoor speakers. I already have a connect on my receiver.

I don't think so, maybe if since you only have three inside you switch some stuff around as to where they are plugged. Mine get pretty loud, and have been very happy.
If I remember when I get home I'll check where I have the outdoor plugged in back. I remember it took me a while to play with it and get it right.
Also, maybe seem to remember changing a setting on the on screen menu on tv when I set it up but don't remember what, sorry!

I've got this exact system and literally just got rid of it for the Onkyo at BB with the multi zone feature.
The Sony system doesn't allow you to control the zone b volume or source independently from the inside speakers. I had he same issues: had to blast my in ceiling living room speakers to hear my outdoor speakers.
Trust me...go to Best Buy and get the onkyo. It has built in Spotify/pandora/airplay and wifi.
ETA: i spent a lot of time on the phone with customer support and Sony admitted that I could NOT just turn up the volume for the zone b speakers. This systems treats zone b as being in the same room as zone a, so their volume control is tied together. We tried every workaround for 2 hours and they ultimately admitted this was not a good system for having indoor speakers and outdoor speakers.
With my onkyo, I can softly play the tv or radio in surround sound inside and blast Spotify outside, all at the same time, from the same receiver, using one awesome free app from onkyo.

Here's what I did with mine.
I bought an A and B speaker selector.
I have a 5.1 setup inside and two speakers outside.
The speaker selector is connected to the front speakers output.
When I want to listen to a movie in surround sound, I turn just the 5.1 system on. If I am outside, I select the front B speakers and the stereo setting.
There is also an A + B setting if I want both sets on.

That's because the Sony doesn't have a second zone. What it has is "B" speakers which will always mimic the front L/R speakers.
A second zone would be source independent and would power the second set of speakers by an assigned pair of surround speakers typically.

Not sure if you were ever able to figure this out. If so, great, I'll just post this for anyone else that may need it. Worked for me. Got from Sony's website.
NOTE: Some A/V receivers have a Speaker A and Speaker B switch on the front panel of the unit. The Speaker A output is used for the speakers in the main room while the Speaker B output is for a second pair of speakers in another room (garage or patio, etc.).
Follow the steps below to access the Speaker B option on your receiver:
NOTE: For model-specific information regarding any of the steps below, refer to the supplied manual. Manuals are posted on your model support page.
Make sure that speakers are properly hooked up to the Front B speaker port of the receiver.
Using the supplied remote, pull up the menu of the A/V receiver and select Speaker Settings.
Under Speaker Settings, select Speaker Pattern.
Use the arrow up button or arrow down button to choose 3/2.1
Select SB Assign parameter.
Select Speaker B.
Press the SPEAKER button repeatedly on the receiver until SP B is displayed on the front panel.
