Google vs Microsoft AI War?

seems like google are shatting their pants over Microsoft's plans to incorporate chaptGPT into Bing and now they are scrambling to release a competitor. i think we are on the cusp of a major revolutional change in how people will consume information/content and it just might upend the economy as well:

What really is "real" or "correct" now a days? For example in the political spectrum or climate change, etc.
Anything that's a metric, like inflation or sea levels rising or temp rising, murder, job growth, etc can all be spun to how you want it perceived.
Example: The global temperature has risen by 1degree F (I made this up btw) over the last 250years. This would be a stat that a global warming alarmist would use.
Inverse stat would be: Ok yes, it has risen by 1degree F over the last 250 years but it's actually been the same or 1degree F lower over the last 1250 years. (Again, I made these up statistically but trying to show my point).
"Facts" are going to be skewed by people so might as well make them skewed by AI too.

Is there anywhere ChatGPT can be used for free now? The app only gives you 5 statements before you have to pay.
