Android Pixel users toward new pixels "OMG they must not have a design team"

all smart phones look basically the same from iphone to Samsung to pixel

I would argue against that in this case however.

Pixel 1 sold okay, Pixel 2 sold fairly well, Pixel 3 tanked and is worst selling phone to date by a large margin.

The notch and the awful press it got for months from being leaked so much destroyed any chance that phone had.

If they are truly dumb enough to bring the same notch back for the Pixel 4 then they deserve the poor sales.

the notch was not the reason the Pixel 3 tanked. It tanked because there wasnt any major upgrade from the pixel 2 to the pixel 3. so pixel 2 owners like myself figured there will be a big advancement in the pixel 4 and waited.

I think it's the notch/design that caused it.

Not sure that I've ever seen a phone receive so much bad press for months leading up to launch, due to the thousands of leaks.

the notch did not cause a failure in selling iphones or samsungs.. It wasnt the notch.

If it was heads and heels better than the 2/2xl people would have bought it and said who fricking cares about a notch, this phone is super duper cool.

But it wasnt, it was like a re-release of a 2/2xl....... with a notch, so bloggers freaked out about the notch.

if you turned the notch off wasnt the forehead the same size or even smaller than the 2xl?

You don't have to keep the notch if you dont want. If i owned a 3xl no way i'd leave that notch on there.

I'm not seeing a whole lot that makes me want to upgrade to the 4/4xl. No physical finger print scanner...F that until the tech is a couple of iterations down the line.

I don't think so, people hate notches on the Android side. It was doomed as soon as it had one.

So you are saying if they sold it out of the box with the notch turned off as default it would do better?

I could be convinced perhaps, perception is often reality.

No because then the screen is smaller and it's supposed to be XL.

?

You have a gigantic forehead on the phone wasted for pure blackness.

It makes the usable screen just .2 bigger and it's supposed to be an XL.

Define giant. Even the one on my 2xl isnt giant. In fact it's such a nonissue I roll my eyes at 0 bezel arguments. It's such a bad argument.

My software sucks but at least my forehead is 1/2 less than yours!

The notch itself is giant. The biggest on a phone.

Not really. I would turn it off and if you do that you are talking about the smallest difference in thickness from the iphone. If you leave it on its still slightly thicker but not nearly as long.

Either way, its a poor argument for a reason to go away from the XL model. CarRamrod's argument that the 2/2xl was so good that there was no need to upgrade is a much stronger one.

What do you mean not really? That shows exactly what I mean, deepest notch of any phone this causing the biggest loss of screen real estate when disabled.

Well its also not as long as the iphone, and it has front facing speakers that the iphone doesnt. You said it's the biggest notch on a phone when it really isnt.

Sorry man, your initial argument that android users are so anti notch that it left a bad taste is something i can get behind.

But your "if kept as a forehead no one would buy because its supposed to be an XL"....naw that's very weak.

I would never use a phone with a notch, not even that teardrop one on the one plus 6T. Not the iphone, not any. That's me personally.

ETA: or turn it off if it was available.
