Then why did you originally say that my argument "falls flat" when I said that personal preference would determine if these features would improve someone's experience?
You are arguing in circles now just to save face. You brought up this whole stagnation thing, which I never mentioned or even came close to referring to, as some gotcha, when I have only said that app features are personal preference and the ones mentioned with the apple card don't do it for me...

Probably mostly about this statement. "I have literally never opened my amex app and thought "what could make this experience better"."
Substitute amex app for almost anything and you can find someone getting paid most likely a lot of money to do just that. That's why I mentioned the in app rewards, the AMEX and Chase apps are clunky and there is lot they could improve to make the experience better for most of us anyway.

There is nothing AMEX can do to make your experience easier or better right?

This is basically a cash back card with a few different rules. It's absurd that it would cost $300 million to set this up. If that's the case they need to invest in upgrading their infrastructure so creating new cards isn't so costly.
Yep, but luckily apple people love overpaying for things, so they can recoup it. But it's insane to think that it cost 300M to create a credit card, when they do this all the time.

Take the Amazon Visa card, we have basically the same interest rate on that card as I have on my individual Apple card. However, I get 3% back but it's in "Amazon Points". I can't use those except to spend MORE MONEY at Amazon. So yea, I get a higher %age back but in essence I have to spend more money to use it.
Same concept with my Capital One Visa that gives me gift cards. Yay I got 200$ in Best Buy gift cards. I'll go buy some random shite and spend 250$. Guess what, I still spent an extra 50$
Whereas I'm liking the Apple card for places like Walgreens and such that give 3% back (when using Apple Watch). Now that 3% goes into a "slush fund" that I can then bank and eventually use like money when I so choose. Or use it 100% towards debt paydowns on the same credit card.
It's not a perfect card but it can be, if used perfectly.
Wut? I think maybe you haven't researched the best card(s) for your needs if this is your argument. There are plenty of cards giving CASH back out there that are much better at it than this one. Whatever Capital One VISA you have that is only getting you gift cards (not aware of this one, but I digress), you could always switch to the SAVOR and get 4% CASH back on eating out and entertainment, 2% on groceries/supermarkets and gas, and 1% on everything else. And it's quite easy to track in their app (which is also excellent).

No, but I never said that they shouldn't try, or that they just shut down their app development team. That is something that you are trying to infer as a gotcha.
And again, I said time and time again that it's personal preference.

So you are going to double down on stupid? How is this even an argument, it's my own opinion. You still obviously don't know what personal preference means
And again, if the apple card features are so universally great, show me one exclusive feature that would improve my experience... I'll keep waiting

Tread lightly my man, DG will be along soon to tell you how cool the app is, and if you say that none of the features appeal to you and you really just need a basic app, he will tell you how big of an idiot you are and how you are fighting for app stagnation...

No late fees...no fees of any kind...ever?

Posted on 10/4/19 at 6:07 am to TigerGman
Doesn't help my experience, I've never paid fees of any kind on any other card I have had

So what? You can shite on a great feature that will benefit on 95% of its users.
Btw you paid no fee to acquire Your Amex?
Posted on 10/4/19 at 7:24 am to TigerGman
Correct, I pay no annual fee with my amex. I paid no start-up fee with my amex.
And I am not shitting on it. I told DG that it sounded like a decent card with a cool app but it didn't appeal to me. He then proceeded to say that I was for stagnation and didn't want apps to improve. I told him that these features wouldn't benefit ME.
I don't know why it is so hard to understand but let me write it in all caps so maybe it gets through
IT SOUNDS LIKE A COOL APP, BUT NONE OF THE FEATURES BENEFIT ME. And I don't mean me in the sense of every person in the world as you two keep implying. I mean me in the sense of me the individual. Myself.

Not to argue with you but I thought all Amex cards had an annual fee.
Posted on 10/4/19 at 4:18 pm to TigerGman
No, there are several that do not. You just get a higher rewards rate if you get a card with an annual fee.
And most of these cards give a decent startup bonus, like $150 cash back if you spend 1000 in your first 3 months
