I have a S10 that keeps telling me to open my secure folder and then runs a 10mb biometrics update to fix the piece of crap fingerprint sensor issue but after it downloads it gives me an error message that it couldn't update. This has been going on for 2 weeks now. Just wondering if any of you have had this issue. I've tried all the tips I've found online already.

My s10+ works, but I don't care for the screen fingerprint option coming from the rear one on my pixel 2xl. Having it on the back was great. This, not so much. Slow too

The fingerprint reader sucks royal arse. Works maybe 50% of the time.

Have you had the update sent to your phone yet? I disabled the fingerprint reader on mine but I'm hoping the update fixes it, if I could ever get it to actually update.

Sounds like a case of why fix something that's not broken (fingerprint on the back...granted samsung never could figure out the best spot to put theirs on the back).

there is a setting you need to change.

What do you mean? I'm talking about the functionality of the fingerprint reader. It's trash compared to the pixel. Nothing can be changed to fix it. Maybe software changes in the future. My pixel was instant.

I peeled that screen protector off on the first day. I also went into the settings and selected biometrics with and without a screen protector and the fingerprint reader still doesn't work. I just wish I could get this update to go through. It may just fix it.

I'm a note guy, and don't own the phone. But I remember when the phone came out a couple of months ago, people mentioned the issue you're having. And it was a setting that needs to be changed. After that, it was blazing fast.
Find the s10 release thread on this board and you will find it

Thanks. Screen Sensitivity in the display settings. Mine was already on. I actually don't have a screen protector so I disabled the setting. We'll see if it improves. The original thread you mentioned, people turned that setting on and it made all the difference in the world for them.
