For those considering home security systems

I lived with a simple home alarm system for a while and just recently opened myself up to the nest world. Thermostat and cameras.
I got reminded of why we do this in the first place and it only took one time for it to pay off. Had a little incident where someone tried to get into our house. Remember the reason. It pays off.

How'd the cameras help? Serious question.

I view alarms as the main line of security.
Recently installed cameras and they provide some useful backup capabilities regarding peeps (meter readers, delivery personnel, etc.) and critters. They also have intercom capability.
