Which version do you have?

I've got the 2nd gen firestick with the quad-core CPU and I haven't had any stability or performance issues.

To use Fire TV Recast to watch and record over-the-air TV, you’ll need the following (sold separately):
An HD antenna—specific channel availability and reception varies by location. Learn more
A Fire TV streaming media player or Echo Show.
Access to the free Fire TV app on a Fire tablet (5th Gen or above), or an iOS 10 (or above) or Android 4.4 (or above) mobile device.

So it is not a fire tv that does all that... It is just a tuner with a HD. you need a fire tv to get everything else.

They really should work on integrating fire tv and the recast. It would require cooperation from streaming services, but it would be awesome to have a single UI for streaming and broadcast tv. If anyone has the capacity to make it happen, it’s Amazon. It’s juat a matter of the will to do it.

Why in the cornbread hell aren't people taking advantage of the Nvidia Shield when it goes on sale?
It was $125 just last month at best buy.

Firesticks will always be problematic no matter how 'fast' (still slow tech) because they are to small to dissipate the heat built up inside.

Finally, volume control on the remote.

Any chance this new remote can pair with older fire devices?

Just buy a FireTV

The cube and Gen 2 are amazing and run better on WiFi than a Fire stick.
