How do I know this isn't just a ploy for them to replace the foreign malware with good old American spyware?
Bc the foreign malware attack isn't limited to the US and cyber sec companies that exist outside of the FBI are reporting it.

Maybe I missed it but HOW do you know if you are infected?
Seems so much screaming about the virus but no info on how or what

Now I'm not saying I trust the FBI less than Russian hackers or Chinese botnets, but I don't really trust them that much more. How do I know this isn't just a ploy for them to replace the foreign malware with good old American spyware? Isn't the head of the FBI one of the people that has been pushing the hardest for companies like Apple and Google to add backdoors to their systems?
They would just do it and not ask you to do anything. There’s your simplest answer. I hear what your saying but I generally like to think that the American govt has our *general* best interest at heart. Especially when it comes to foreign frickbuckets.
Sure, not always but in this instance, seems to be the best bet.
