If your wife is latina, she is texting you while you're checking out about shite she needs, even with Alexa. Godspeed you got a wife that knows what a list is.

if the wife would use her calendar

Yep.

HA running on a wall mounted 10" fire tablet here. Mounted in the kitchen (where my wife spends 75% of her time)

The whole house, calendar, cams, everything neatly arranged and controlled from 1 screen view.

My wife: "why didn't you take off on xyz day for some random reason!?"

Was it on the calendar? Nope.

Tell me more... Have been looking at an Echo Show 5 for my ring doorbells. Found where someone gives instructions on how to program it so whenever there is motion or someone rings the doorbell Alexa begins pulling up the camera. Do you know if you have that type of freedom on the fire tablet, or do you need to open the tablet, open the app, let it load...

We have the new echo show and we love it for this. Shows our events for the day. Linked to our google calendar. Has our shopping list and to do list as well.

Echo show

Is there a way to just show the monthly calendar? We currently have a calendar chalkboard that shows all the events for the month, which is nice to look at for scheduling purposes. I have an older Amazon Show and it has all the widgets on the home screen and then your amazon link shows widgets on the home screen as well. Would like it if it just showed a monthly view, similar to Outlook Calendar.

I'd like to have a digital board with touchscreen to look at flight data information, which would tied to flight data for my family from multiple individual Google calendars, birthday and anniversary reminders, count downs for LSU and OU games, RSS feeds for news, stocks and betting odds for football games, weather, shopping list, recipe requests from the family, pop-ups of doorbell camera, set alarm system with notification, facial recognition to know it's me and say "Good Morning, HB. Today, you're scheduled to close that $4 million order from Lockheed."

I use home assistant and action tiles.

It's deep in the weeds. If you're a tinkerer and electronically inclined. Youtube it. It took me about 3 months to get it where I wanted it to be.

Home assistant has a pretty good learning curve for someone with no tech/programming background, but it's doable if your tech inclined and willing to spend a couple hours at a time chasing the rabbit.

ETA: my tablet is set up where when it "sees" motion it opens up to my action tiles page.

It probably sees me when I'm walking naked thru my kitchen fyi. I figure someone in India has probably been disgusted from my bare arse a time or two.

I am intrigued by the show since it’s touchscreen.

If you have space, go with the 8 instead.
