Does anyone have any experience with these? I'm trying to get a design embroidered on a few shirts and there is a $80 fee to digitize my logo. Is there any software out there that I can download to do this myself? Thoughts? Thanks!

My wife uses PE Design. I can't remember which version, but you may be able to find a demo or torrent.

PE Design requires a license dongle to run. There are a few programs out there that have a demo version that can digitize a logo but they honestly do a really crappy job. My wife has an embroidery business and I've digitized several logos for her. though not completely professional they do the trick. I can do that for you cheaper if you'd like. Can probably get you a deal on the shirts as well.

I have helped my mother with her sewing machine and software. What format your logo is currently in and what to export to depends on the machine they are stitching it on? It also depends on the number of colors and if it is in bitmap or raster format already. $80 doesn't sound like that much to be honest.

absolute digitizing turned my PDF into a embroidery file for $7.50, took a couple days.

Any decent software will probably set you back at least a couple of hundred bucks, and creating an embroidery design is much different that drawing. There are different ways to create the 3D effect of a good design, and then you need to deal with the jump stitches. That aside, $80 is way too high for one design, unless it is overly complicated or has a lot of different colors.

I'll have to see what company my wife uses. They are located overseas. It's usually a $25 flat fee, really fast turnaround, and quality work. If after you stitch it out, you aren't satisfied with the results, they will adjust/fix and issues you have.
Digitizing is best left to the pros....it's not as easy as it's made out to be.

That really depends on what you mean by "flags".
Just email me.

best way is to have someone on Fiverr do it for $5. I have done it a few times.
They give you 3-4 different file formats as well that pretty much any embroiderer can use.
