I was flying my Mavic this past weekend over some rice fields looking at geese below when I had these two guys buzz me. It was a quick, "oh crap get the hell out of there" moment.

After my crash, all is fine. Took it to the beach and it worked perfectly. The last picture of dolphins was taken close to dark so it's not too vivid.

My dad and a co worker both have a DJI Phantom 3.

Coworkers went crazy and ended up upside down in a creek.

He is buying my dads off of him and my dad is buying the Mavic.

Anything he should know that's a major difference or adjustment between the two?

I have a phantom 3 standard and I'm already looking to sell it to put $ towards the mavic.

There are plenty of YouTube video comparing the two. In almost every one, the Mavic is picked as better platform with one exception. The phantom series video has a wider view by about 10-12 degrees. I'd never owned a drone until the mavic so I can't compare from hands on experience.

The wider field of view is nice for flying, but you don't need it as much for filming.
