Looks like it's $20/month + a $15 deactivation fee.
This antenna:

If it works like I want, I'm going with a roku at each tv and a tablo ota dvr system.

You mean all you need is a subscription to SlingTv for $25/month and you can have access to all of WatchESPN, and also have live channels to watch like AMC, TNT, TBS, HGTV, CNN, and a few more.
Also, there's no way to watch FS1 online. Fox doesn't want their sports programming streamed online. They think if they do that, we'll keep our cable subscriptions b/c FS1 is so essential.
having a antenna lets you watch all sports games on the major networks. Having sling lets you watch all sports on ESPN.
I'm not paying $130/month just so i can have the ability to pause and rewind live tv and watch fox sporting events, like the pelicans.
Antenna, Hulu, Netflix, Slingtv. $42/month, and you probably already was paying for Netflix like most do. All we watch in our house is live sports and recorded programs. We've been DTV free for 3 months, and haven't really noticed a difference in how we watch tv, other than saving money now watching the same exact stuff. Hell Slingtv gave added Trutv just for this weekend so you could watch the basketball games on that channel.
You can also prepay for 3 months of Slingtv and get free Roku boxes and other streaming devices for free or discounted.

You sling TV folks have any gripes about it?
Also, I guess it's time to look for an antenna. I need something discrete.

No, but i'm using a Roku3 that's hardwired with 100Mb/s internet service.
If you're going to use a firestick 3 rooms over from your router and you've got DSL, yeah you may have gripes about it from time to time.
I know that with all the bad weather we had last week, i not once had a disruption in what I was watching. I didn't have problems much with DTV with rain for the most part, but when it got bad enough it went out, and that would have happen a lot this past week..

Yea my directv cutting out is rare but happens. I have good internet service and I can go with the Roku if thats the best. I have appletv in the living room and chromecast on other tvs. I can possibly run hardwire to my patio tv. Thats my biggest concern.
I'm new to the antenna game...do I just need an antenna and a splitter to get my locals to multiple tvs?

You want dvr for your locals or just real time?
If just real time, not sure how that would work plus signal amps.
For dvr, there are multiple options. I plan on installing a tablo box that can be accessed by my rokus. TiVo also makes a dvr system with a main box and smaller satellite boxes that feed from the main. Channel master has another option but I've read it's better for single tv's (no real whole home option).

I haven't researched it enough, but i'd go with something that obviously has the WatchESPN app capable, and something with a fast processor. I can notice the difference in how fast apps open up on my Roku3 compared to the Roku2, which both have ethernets plugged to. Slingtv takes about 10 seconds to open up and get to HD on the Roku2. Takes about 2 seconds on the Roku3. Makes it much easier to change channels, especially during March Madness and not be sitting there waiting forever.

How many tvs are we looking at here? Do you really need locals on every tv?

3 TVs. Not a must have, but ideally yes.
Definitely must have on 2. Have to be able to catch Saints games on both living room and patio.

Why not do the same sharing with directv receivers. You could have DVRs at 3 houses on one account. About $35 a month for 200+ channels and a dvr

Would be nice, but I don't have the desire to put in enough effort. I'm going to roll with Hulu to catch anything that I miss that I may want to watch.

If it's just two, you should be fine splitting it, maybe adding the amplifier.
I'm just using it on two tv's. Got one antenna in the attic for the living room, and put a $30 MOHU leaf in the window in the kitchen for that tv. The MOHU leaf didn't catch everything in the living room behind the tv. I spent $80 on two antennas and don't have to worry about the amplifier messing up signals every now and then.

so, walk me through this if you don't mind because I'm definitely not up to date on most of this stuff.
What I currently have:
1 apple tv box in my living room
Xbox in 3 rooms
1 room with nothing (once I get rid of the genie)
If I get an over air antenna, with what I currently have, and probably 1 more apple box for the master bedroom, I should be able to watch local channels on the TV with the antenna on it? Which also has appleTV, so if I subscribe to HULU or netflix, I can watch whatever shows and programming they offer? And ESPNwatch I can do because I pay my dads DirecTV bill also, so I have that username and passord.
So the TV's that have Xbox and the other room with just the apple, will have access to HULA and netflix, just not the locals unless I get an antenna directly lined up on them?
So I can watch LSU on cbs live, or espn or sec network, and saints?
If this is a yes, bye bye Directv

Download Kodi and then add Exodus

if you want to add as little hardware as possible, tablo has apps for apple tv. So you get a tablo OTA dvr and stick it next to your router and can watch it via the tablo app on your apple tv (or roku or fire device). i don't see where tablo has an app for xbox, they may now, i don't see it.
tivo also has a hub/satellite box model as well but the hub is at one of the tv's. i'm already roku heavy so i admit i didn't research much on tivo past that point.

I'd rather pay DirecTV than to have to explain how to use alternative sources/deal with the nagging when something doesn't work right.
If you want to lower the bill with DirecTV call around 9AM on a weekday. You'll have a better chance of speaking to someone with a brain.

I think I have a PS3, an older one, but I know I have 3 Xbox units. Based on your response, I'm assuming all those options are PS3\Sony exclusive?
It's a streaming service just like Sling TV. They are just rolling out to newer devices. Sony products just started first. Amazon Fire TV/Stick are also compatible.

I thought that too, and like clockwork, she bitched at first when she didn't use her brain to figure shite out. Now that i've shown her how to use her brain, she's got no complaints. Took about a 3 weeks of her retardness to work it's way out.

I don't want to miss a second of any LSU sporting event, and i haven't with OTA Antenna and Slingtv(using WatchESPN)
I'd tell you to get advice from someone else on the OTA antenna and splitting lines. I have an antenna for each of the two tv's i wanted local channels on. The other 4 tvs in the house do without local channels.
