Dataset for Visualization Project

Anyone have any good datasets to recommend for a grad school project on data visualization? Our professor has given us freedom to choose any topic that we'd like to use except real estate and Covid. I was trying to find some information on hurricanes and tornadoes, but was unable to find any good datasets. If anyone has any ideas, please share!

Pull some data on data.gov or Kaggle. Assuming that it’s a topic and not a BI class, you should be focused on data that’s prepped and ready for analysis. If that’s the case, searching though Kaggle would be the best fit.
For visualization, I recommend to stick with Excel. Tableau and SAPPA could get a bit confusing if you’re a beginner. If you’re looking for a small challenge and learn some BI software, try Power BI.

I’ve been looking at Kaggle and data.gov but don’t seem to be getting good hits. Maybe I’m choosing wrong topics?? Unfortunately, I have to use Tableau because this is for a class and that’s the tool we are using.

If you are interested in microbes I recommend checking out data sets through Mothur or QIIME2.

As someone said earlier, cringe stats are easy to find.
Another suggestion is GIS rebate data. There is plenty of there on the stare or county level.

Appreciate all of the suggestions. I’ll check them out.
