I finally just made up my mind and never want to give cox another single dollar, so I read the other thread and was ready to order AT&T for high speed internet, and they are not available in my area mid city, new orleans
any recs on who I should get internet from in this case: no at&t, never want to give cox another dime?

I was just coming to the tech board to post a similar message.
Internet recs for Metairie with any company not named Cox. I checked and my address can get AT&T, but everybody I know who has them say they suck.

I don’t know if it’s the same in your area, but where I live the problem isn’t with ATT itself, but the shitty modem/routers they give you. Once I replaced that my internet was way better

Which modem/router did you buy?

Just one of the Motorola surfboard modems and I got the google mesh Wi-Fi routers

As shitty as Cox is, if you can’t get fiber you don’t have any other good options

ATT fiber is legit. I moved and I am stuck with fox paying 2X as much for a product that is maybe 75% as good.
