Yeah, Marques Brownlee did a whole video on it that I thought was super interesting. Youtube link
Basically he takes his Galaxy to the northeast somewhere and shows just how insane the speeds are, but also that it is super spotty and the coverage is dogshit. He is walking down the street and walks past a tree and 5G completely drops coverage. His phone battery also runs completely down in like 2 hours.

The range of 5g has been disappointing but also widely predicted.

I'm an hr away from Atlanta and went to get a new phone the other day. I told the guy I wanted the note 10+ and he had this serious look on his face and said... you know... you really should get the Note 10+ 5G. And I literally did a wtf face and said by the time we get 5G in half the state, I'll be buying the new Note 14+. Then I asked him a question because I already knew the answer. I asked.... How many 5G towers are there in Georgia. And he said... 1 and it's not technically a Verizon tower (put in for the NFL promotion).
So far it's just a sales gimmick to add a couple hundred to your phone. And it should be damn near criminal to advertise and sell phones based on their coverage now. If you believed their hype.. it is everywhere.

People are already up in arms about ugly "5G" monopoles showing up in their front yards along city easements** -- and so now the solution is more of them?
It's public space. FCC has basically told cities and town to pound sand. Tough shite. All they can do now is make them follow local restrictions.

If you're bothered by the smaller fees being inpossed across the board for all, then maybe don't look at what cable companies have been doing for years.

lawsuits waiting to happen if they don't properly safety test this. The energy densities are getting too great and the wavelengths are getting too small.
It's non-ionizing radiation.
And the only way you can suffer from burns is if you're standing right in front of a full powered macros site panel. Small cells won't come close to that type of output since federal regulations already limit the exposure that is allowed near public spaces.

LTE really sucked back around 2009-2011 as well. First iteration isn’t much to judge by.
