I have been paying $89 a month for the premier 100mb plan. I cut the cord and have no television. The price has been slowly climbing for the last two years from a low of $69 to today’s $89.

Saw online that new customers can activate for a 12 month contract price of $69 for 300mb speeds with panoramic WiFi. Called to ask if I could get on that deal and was transferred to loyalty department. Great customer service. Friendly and knowledgeable. Long story short, can’t get the $69 price, but did get upgraded to 300mb speed tier (normally $104) for $84 per month. So, saved $5 and doubled my speeds. I’ll take it for now.

The upgrade price offered online was $104. So saving $20 from the upgrade offer.

Cable companies are going to make money one way or the other.

You realize it goes up to full price in a year, right?

Yes, but 12 months reduced is better than $89 for the same ole. Plus she told me I can call back before the year ends and lock in another rate reduction.

I pay 60 even for ATT fiber 100Mbit.

For the price you are paying you could have gotten 1 Gbit.

Yeah, but wait and see if they actually put you down as a contract customer.

Long story short, I was supposed to have a locked in price and get a gift card but for some reason, I'm not down as a contract customer.

And now I think my monthly price will be going higher.

They raised my price and when I called to do the cancellation dance, the guy spent 25 minutes telling me how bad AT&T would be.

I finally had to tell him to stop bad mouthing his competition and just tell me the best price available for my service.

He didn't budge a dime. I went on to tell him how crappy it is to give a new customer less than half what I pay after being a customer over 20 years.

This crap drives me insane. I don't want to have to call every 10 or 12 months to get a better rate. I guess it's just the way these companies work. . .

My guess is a lot of people eventually tire of it and go along with the full price. For those who don't, Cox eventually starts playing hardball, and you'll be doing good to get a 10% discount.

Same. Although you're paying 80$ but you/I get a -10 discount for bundling your tv service.

At worst, it'd be 80$ for unlimited just for internet service with att at 1000mbps.

They would not give me any deals. I was able to downgrade my service from 150mb to 100mb for $80 a month.

Cox New Orleans.

That's what I hate the most. I'm paying $64 with Charter for internet. I get offers in the mail all the time to bundle Cable/Internet/Phone for 12 months for $29 each. I think they used to have a pick 2 option, but now to get bundled prices you have to have all 3. I'd love to jump on basic cable with no DVR and internet for $30 each. Even $35. I haven't had a landline in 8 years and don't plan on ever having one again.
