Computer monitor
Boss just approved me to expense a laptop dock, keyboard and mouse and a monitor.

He’s only letting me spend $200 on a monitor. Any good recommendations? Thoughts on curved vs normal?

Thanks

re: Computer monitor
I can't weigh in on the curved monitors, but I've been working from home for 15 yrs and it was a giant improvement for me when I went from 24" displays to 28". I run dual monitors too. I tried 36" and that was just too much, though I have a friend who uses dual 36" mounted on the wall instead of his desk.

As for brands, I like Samsung and Dell but for a given feature set and similar display technology I'm not convinced there's much difference brand to brand. Had an LG that bit the dust early but was probably a fluke.

IPS panels are worth the cost vs TN panels.

I've never bothered with a dock but a wireless fullsize keyboard and mouse are great and cheap.

Did you change resolution at least?

Yes, 1366x768 (24) to 1920x1080 (28)

re: Computer monitor
There's the difference, not the size of the monitor

I use a 40" 4K tv (TCL) as my monitor. For work, it is dope. 5 full size word documents side-by-side. Like a million columns of excel on one screen. Super duper zoom when tweaking those sexy powerpoints.

re: Computer monitor
I think what bothered me about my trial with the 36" was that they were mounted on my desk on a riser and they felt too close to the point of being invasive. I have my back to a wall and the desk faces into the open space of my office. If I were facing a wall where I could put a little more space between my eyes and the panel, I'd definitely try bigger displays again.
