Going on vacation to Utah in June and want a decent video camera to capture the beauty. At the same time, I'm cheap and don't want to spend the money on something I'm not likely to use much afterwards. Any recommendations?

Unless you're looking for the action/mounting options that typically come with a GoPro your best video camera option is probably already in your pocket. Take that same amount of money you would spend on a GoPro and upgrade your phone.

Plenty of $20 options on Amazon that work fine.

Do you have any experience with a particular one?

I have the Apeman A79 LINK

It was a daily deal from Amazon and I paid $40.
I don't mind the picture quality but the audio is trash. I tried to buy a mini shotgun mic and learned the plug is 2.5 instead of 3.5. So I got an adapter and still it doesn't work. It records audio at like -40 level so even trying make it louder in video programs makes it sound bad.

IMO, it's not worth $20, but I couldn't write a negative review because I didn't pay full price which is a dumb Amazon hangup. I would advise against the one I have.

I'm probably going to go with the cheaper gopro white since all I use is 1080/60p anyway.
