Cable still isn't an option this far out.

What would you pre wire for or add in new home construction?

Whatever you land on, I would run this stuff throughout the entire house. One run from each outlet box in each room to your networking and A/V closet. You WILL have a networking and A/V closet, right? RIGHT?!

Then, it doesn't matter what you run because you can easily just pull whatever new cable you need as technology changes and update the outlet box faceplates as needed.

Run everything now and have a networked home, anyway. Many products run on the network, not the internet.

Example: Plex.

If you picked up an nVidia Shield, it can act as a Plex server for every room in your home.

if i build a house i would run 2 ethernet cables to each room. Some more than that. All to my server room/closet.

I'd run a CAT6 and RG6 to every room and have a central room where they run to, not in the attic. Depending on how your setup will be, it will be easier and more comfortable to do your interconnecting in an air conditioned room, as well as keeping your equipment from excess heat.

Another thing to consider is running coax cable, as in, for cable TV.

DirecTV can use one receiver box, with multiple end points. These end-points can operate on MoCA, which uses coax.

I disagree with running coax
