Yea, I know.

I've been conditioned/brainwashed by Microsoft products since MS-DOS & Windows 3.1, so of course I liked their phone setup. The rest of the world clearly did not.

I had high hopes for the Surface Duo but it appears Microsoft can't get that right, even after two tries.

So my question to former WinPhone users - which OS is the easiest/least difficult to learn? I'm not a power user by any stretch but do want a few apps to make life easier.

Thanks

I, too, held on to a Windows phone for a long time. I had an Android phone and an iPhone since I retired the Windows phone. I prefer the Android phone by a very large margin. The Android virtual keyboard is far better to type on and the OS allows greater customization and flexibility. The iPhone is probably easier to use out of the box, however, and updates seem slightly less error-prone. Either way, you will likely miss your old Windows phone.

Get a good Android phone and install a Windows launcher. Best of both worlds.

Follow-up question - anyone tried the Surface Duo?

Every review I've read is mixed at best (hardware sucks, software OK) but some of the peeves don't apply to what I want out of a phone.

And since MS has joined the dark side by running Android on these new phones, that tells me they've thrown in the towel on any future development efforts. I guess a two OS world is the future.

I found that most people that actually tried Windows phones really liked the OS. I know I did.

The problem was apps. Developers never took to the Windows phones, so they didn't get the popular apps.

Shame.

Yup, and I held out for a while because it didn't really matter. At some point, it really did. I can remember based on model. It was when the iPhone 3 was new.
