Best cell phone carrier other than Verizon?

Since Verizon has decided to screw me over for having unlimited data and throttle me down to only 3g, I feel like now would be the best time to switch carriers.

AT&T does the same with unlimited plans. They all suck in different ways. If T-Mobile had better coverage I would go with them.

They aren't going to be throttling till October so there is no way you've been throttled yet and besides you have to fit 3 criteria to even be throttled:
1.Be out of contract.
2.Use over 4.7gb/mo.
3.Use a backlogged tower.
Just upgrade and keep your UD and they won't throttle you.

TMobile. I've never had an issue with them.

1.Be out of contract. CHECK
2.Use over 4.7gb/mo. CHECK
3.Use a backlogged tower. Unknown
Well if they are not throttling me, why have I all of a sudden been unable to get 4g? I used to constantly have 4g at my house (Hammond) and at work (throughout the city of BR). I refuse to upgrade if I am going to continually be throttled once I upgrade.

They aren't because the new throttling policy isn't in effect till October.

Willing to bet that you need a new sim card. Go to a store to get it swapped out.

If you upgrade you will be in contract. You have to be OUT of contract to fit the criteria on being throttled.
Source: indirectly work for Verizon.

So I should upgrade to be throttled in October?

Not necessarily true. There are multiple loop holes around that, where you can upgrade and keep UD. For example, if you have a second line that is on a limited data plan, upgrade through that line. It's not rocket science.

the ONLY reason why i havent ported my number to verizon is because i still have the AT&T unlimited data plan...but when the day come "hope not" when they will start kicking ppl off to upgrade im switching over.
My at&t service sucks azz where I work at, while the verizon folks dont have any problems at all.
