Link to bundle with Google Home

I'm just getting into all of this home automation ("just" as in I'm still waiting for my Smartthings Starter Kit to ship ).

I've been reading up on the different things you can do with the color bulbs, like all of CADs scheduling and alerts and that is really intriguing to me.

I was going to hold off on getting either a Home or an Echo, but this deal seems too good to pass up.

Should I just go with the Hue starter kit. Which I'm seeing for $140 right now. Or should I just go ahead and get the bundle with the Home or Echo. $200 & $190 respectively.

Or is there a better deal out there that I'm not seeing?

If I should get the bundle which one should I go with? It seems Google is favored on this board lately. And I'm probably equally in Google and Amazon's ecosystem. (Prime/AmazonMusic/Audible vs Pixel2/ChromecastAudio)

I'm leaning Google but I can be swayed.

Google. It's a better assistant.

so let me ask this dumb question: in order to use hue, you MUST have the bridge regardless if you have alexa, smartthings hub, or google home?

Both the Dot and the Google mini are running $30 each.

Instead of getting the flagship product for each, get the smaller ones and see which one you prefer.

Worst case you spend an extra $30 on the one you didn’t choose.
