I don't know what your day job is, but if it doesn't fulfill you like IT-type work does then you should make a break. It's obviously your passion.

I was fortunate enough to carve out a niche position at my firm because of an application I built.

I would love to go out on my own and start something. Maybe one day.

I just checked and I answered your last question (on March 20th) within 2 minutes. Don't come in here telling everybody I'm slacking on the free consults.

yea but the 2nd to last question took 6 days!

so you are averaging... 4,321 mins an answer.

and BTW i updated the thread with those easystore drives. I have to remove the 3.3v connector on the sata plug.

to prevent people from shucking they used the 3.3v unused sata plug to keep the drive constantly resetting so it wouldnt boot up.

Just did a quick mock-up of my future home networking plans.

The first 5 are my top priority (probably order them sometime this week), but the rest will have to come later. A 24 port POE switch is super overkill right now, but I would rather have too overkill than have to buy another switch. I plan to get a few POE cameras down the road and maybe another POE AP depending on the house.

So I have the possibility of getting a 48 port HP POE switch for $120. Good deal?

HPE 5120-48G-POE+ EI SWITCH.

I know nothing about value of switches. It seems like a pretty good deal for a gig, managed and POE switch. It looks like I'll have to refresh myself on my rusty CLI knowledge, but I was going to do that anyway

Been looking on and off for better switches and I think that's a fantastic price.

Sweet, went ahead and bought it. I wish I could find a nice enclosed 12/18u rack that's deep enough to fit a Dell R710 that's not $300+.

I may have to scour the depths of craigslist for that
