BambuLabs P1S owners, what’s this about idle bearings going bad and 8 hour service time?

Bought this printer over Black Friday because of the overwhelming suggestions of this board. I haven’t had this issue, yet, but it seems like a show stopper.
Well, this seems like a pretty in depth maintenance repair for something that could be a $3 part and a 30 minute repair time. Yet, BambuLabs is wanting to replace the entire top half of the printer and require 8 hours to do so?
Somehow, this is better than an open design printer because “it prints fast”.
I’ve printed a few things with it, and I got to say, it’s pretty damn good. But if I can’t maintenance it myself without spending $100s to do so, then what’s the point?

Bruh just print. Worry about fixing shite if/when it breaks.

You don’t think it’s a little ridiculous that you have to replace the whole top half of the entire unit to fix a bearing/gear wheel?

No i dont think about it at all.
But honestly I come from the Ender 3 era. Dumping money and time into 3d printing and tinkering with the machine to get it working is basically expected activities for me

Machine maintenance has and always will be a thing, at least until they get rid of friction.

I have almost 2000 hours on my X1C and 500 on my P1P with no issues at all. Just print and don’t worry about it until you have to.
