Prusa really had the ability to do the same, the XL shows that, they just sat on their butts too much.
I am interested to try the overhangs when I get the 4S upgrade.

I had a weird one yesterday, thought the honeymoon was over on the P1S. I was printing some parts and did a run with a fresh roll of ASA. The supports on the bed welded themselves to the textured PEI sheet, something that has never been an issue for me with ASA. Usually everything audibly "pops" off once the plate cools and you can just pick the parts up. In haste and not giving a shite, I used a glass scrapper to get the supports off and it removed some of the textured PEI plate. No problem, its double sided. So, i just I flipped the plate over to put the bad side down and use the other side. fast forward several hours later to my next print and I could not get any filament to lay down a first layer, spaghetti city every time. I tried ASA, PETG, PLA and nothing would lay down. Checked the nozzle and it seemed fine, but did a 2 cold pulls anyway. Flipped the machine over and checked the Z tension. Checked the Z screws and they were clean. Ran calibration multiple times. Played around with speeds and temp. Cleaned the plate meticulously several times. Nothing was working.
Then i remembered the only thing that had changed from my last beautiful ASA print and my current attempts to print was that I had flipped the build plate over. Now, the side that was currently up, the side I had flipped to, I had previously printed probably 150 hours on without any issue. It's just one day I flipped it over and I just kept it on that side for whatever reason for probably the next 200 hours. So, I thought surely that can't be it because I have successfully printed a lot on both sides of this plate. Well I swapped in a new textured PEI build plate and sure enough everything went back to printing perfectly.

I don't like their texture build plates. Have had a lot of trouble with them myself. I still sometimes use my old plate that has one side that is an engineering plate with glue stick for PETG/ABS/ASA. I use the Bambu smooth PEI with PLA a lot, no glue stick required, sticks great on it. Have a lightyear G10 that works well too. I have one of those dual sided Chinese PEO plates that has a textured side and a polygon design side if I want something with texturing or the polygons on the flat side. I've had better success with that one.

Bambu's textured build plate has been flawless for me up until yesterday. Not sure if this new batch of ASA is just super sticky or if my Z offset was off when it bonded to the plate. I dont alway bed level and might have forgotten to when switching from PETG to ASA yesterday. But i've put a lot of ASA on their plate and never had an issue with it bonding like that. Got some ASA parts running on a smooth PEI plate now that seem to be doing fine. Which is kinda odd because I have never been able to get the polymaker ASA to laydown on my smooth PEI or non-PEI pattern etched plates in the past. But for this part i prefer the face down side to be smooth so tried it again. So, i kinda feel like something is still...different.

isn't this the printer that requires you to be connected to the internet to work?
Posted on 10/8/24 at 3:52 pm to finchmeister08
No, it does not require being connected to the internet to work; no Bambu lab printer requires that.
That said, its more straightforward to use if it's online.

My experiance is 180 degrees opposite of yours, mine has been flawless. You must keep it clean, though; touching it with your grubby fingers will cause it to lose adhesion. A quick wash with Dawn and hot water restores it to a new state.

I just ordered both of these (Smooth and Textured), but they haven't come in yet. I like the idea of good adhesion with no heat.

Do yall have the older black one or the newer gold one? I have the older black. Forgot they updated them because of issues, not bothered to get the new gold one because I have that Chinese plate that works fine and I don’t use textured much.
I keep my plates clean, they have advised to rough it up with sandpaper occasionally. That helps.

I have the gold one, it is double sided.

ah yeah, mine was new gold one too. Makes sense now.

I ordered a P1P today, I'm probably going to pick up an A1 Mini soon as well.

Nice! I've been thing about adding an A1 as a dedicated TPU printer.

I recently had my first issue after 2 years of owner ship. Printed TPU for the first time and swapped in the bambu matte white for another print and had adhesion issues/filament curling onto the nozzle and ripping the whole print off. Changed the nozzle thinking it was a clog but that didnt fix it. Threw the filament in my dehydrator for a couple of hours, still messed up. Wiped down the build plate with acetone, same result. I ended up giving up and trying to print ASA and it worked perfect.
Does TPU tend to clog easy or am I just having a filament issue?

I just ordered my first rolls of TPU and they haven't arrived yet so I don't have any practical experience; however, I have seen posts on FB and Youtube talking about difficulties in printing TPU.
When you say you swapped in Bambu Matte White, what type of filament? Is that TPU or something else?
What build plate are you using? Doesn't Bambu say not to use acetone on the build plates? Whenever I have layer adhesion issues, I always give them a good washing with hot water and Dawn, which seems to cure my problems.

I hadn't read that from bambu. I came into this printer with some knowledge and previous normal troubleshooting measures (for a glass build plate)
I'm using an aftermarket engineering build plate from amazon. No peeling or issues from using it. It's usually hot when I'm cleaning the build plate so it flashes off pretty fast.

It may not harm your plate, I am thinking of the Bambu Textured PEI plate

The Bambu Lab Textured PEI Plate is made by powder coating PEI material onto a steel plate, preserving a unique surface texture on the print's bottom during printing. This plate is compatible and stable with a variety of printing materials. Over time, users might face issues with inadequate adhesion of the build plate. Here are a few recommended steps for troubleshooting adhesion issues with the Bambu Lab Textured Plate.
IMPORTANT
Do not clean the Textured PEI with Acetone, as it will damage the PEI surface.
Ensure that the detergent used for cleaning the plate does not contain any oils or moisturizers, as those can be left on the plate and impact adhesion.
