FYI, everyone should know that you need to have the unlimited plan to receive the credit.

do it through att.com. its really easy and just click TRADE IN and select the model of your phone it will add it and issue the credits

FYI its a 36 month credit. trading in my XRs and it said $22.22 credit for 36 months

does the credit show up before or after checkout? I’m not showing any credit before checkout. I have an X with 2 payments left. It does show $1000 trade in on the 13 pro max pic

ETA: found it. You have to select pay off current phone in order to receive the trade in offer. If you don’t pay it off, looks like you are not eligible for the trade in offer but you do not have to pay the remaining balance

Wow. I think that may be the best deal I’ve ever seen for AT&T. They usually require a new line of service instead of a trade in.

Eh last year they have BOGO on iPhone 12 Pro. The caveat was you had to pay for one over 30 months and they give you a credit each month for the other payment. Had worked out good for my wife and me so far as we both traded iPhone 8's in last year for the 12 Pro.

I had been going the prepaid route for a few years to save on costs, but after Ida I found out that my plan was being throttled hard despite it being an “unlimited plan.”

Also, I found out that when the SHTF all carriers will go out regardless of provider. In Houma all providers from Big Red, Team Blue, and Magentites all failed at one time or the other. As services were restored, I noticed that AT&T’s data was streaming and working better than my prepaid plan from Straight Talk on Big Red’s network.

So when I saw the trade up program from AT&T, I decided to bite bullet on a new IPhone Pro Max 13 and upgrade from an SE I got last year. They are giving me 350 in credits for the phone which was what I paid for it at Walmart.

I got the bait and switch treatment from ATT. Last month I saw they were doing a $700 offer to upgrade and my wife and I had Iphone XR's. Since the XR was still on the apple website as a current offering, I decided not to risk waiting for the 13s to come out (and that offer going away) and go ahead and upgrade to 2 Iphone 12 pro's. I get the new phones and return boxes and sent our old phones back. I get a text from ATT last night saying "a one time credit for the market value of your trade in has been applied as you did not meet all the eligibility requirements to qualify for our current trade-in promotional offers".... so instead of $700 for each phone they gave us $150... So now I will have to spend no telling how long on the phone trying to get this sorted out. I would have not upgraded if they were only offering $150 as my old phone was in perfect condition. Has this happened to anyone else?

I traded in a glitchy XS max and was worried something like that might happen. I made sure to trade it in at the store so I knew what I was getting. Got the full $700.

Yep, I should have done it in person. Lesson learned.

Usually they'll transfer all your data, etc. from your old phone to your new phone and then wipe clean your old phone in front of you so that no one can access anything you've done. You really should erase all your sensitive information (credit cards, sensitive passwords, etc.) but then you can watch them wipe the entire phone clean.
