how do you figure this deal is better than vue when you don't even know the channel listing?
No, I don't know what 100 channels DirectTV will offer for 35$ but I think it's safe to assume they know what Vue has and would want to ensure they compete. It's 100 channels, you think it's not going to cover most of what people want?

Knowing how Directv operates. You will probably get all 84 of the Directv Sonic Tap Music Channels included in the 100 channels offered.

I still struggle with cord cutting because of the internet requirement. I can cut the cord and pay $45 and then $60 for internet or $115 for a package with more channels and premiums.

I think if you're on a contract that you like and is reasonably priced, stick with it. I did for as long as possible. The issue becomes when that ends and the cable company won't extend you another good deal then you end up paying 150-250$ a month.

I'm facing that now. If they don't budge on my next conversation then I'm done and will go this route. I like PS Vue.

Yup I was with DTV and I actually bought myself out of my contract. I got hit by that 24month contract 12month price bs. So I just cancelled about 18 months in. Vue has already paid for the cancellation easily.

I have no idea. No one does. That was my point.

I really like Vue, but it could be better. If AT&T can provide my locals, a better GUI, better DVR and at minimum, DD5.1 sound, then I'll switch, as long as I don't have to go purchase some special box and they don't insist on some stupid 2-year contract.

If only they can make it available on ALL devices too.
-Roku
-Playstation (doubtful cause of vue)
-Amazon Fire TV/Stick
-Xbox's
Like Vue isn't available on Xbox but is on every other device. I don't think Sling is on the Playstation. I hate the fragmented-ness of these early stages of cord cutting.

Vue is adding more platforms as it comes long, but I do doubt an xbox app happens. I expect an apple TV app any month now.
Vue is so new. This whole market is still in its infancy, but I do see it as the future. No more expensive set top boxes has lots of benefits for the company as well.
No expensive truck rolls, no expensive installs, techs on payrolls or contracts, massive call centers, shipping, repair, returns, replacement, etc etc etc. Not having to design updates for all the different versions of box throughout the country. Just update the appstore and let the device handle the update. Feature changes become easier and cheaper. You also don't need as specialized of developers that can command a higher price.
Take a look at the charter guide sometime. Thing is still stuck in the mid 90's. And no whole home DVR.
