Well, AT&T sucks. My iphone 13 and my kid's phone are SOS only, but the Mrs (no pics) is working fine. All with the same iOS.
News articles are saying there's a national outage, but the wife's is working.
Going to make today a challenge.
Done all the restarts, sim card pulls, etc.

Check out the 5 page thread on the OT. It's not only AT&T, can't blame just them.

From a technical standpoint, and cellular is my weak spot, how/why would all carriers be affected since they use different tech

Other carriers say their networks are working normally and the reports are likely their customers trying to call AT&T customers but thinking their phone is the problem.
Edit: Also see rumors that it's a problem with Cisco who allegedly runs a lot of the backbone, which would explain an issue with multiple carriers (though afaik the others still claim they have no issues).

The backbone should be fine since all wifi calls/texts are working properly.

I thought so too, just passing along rumors in case others want to investigate.

At first I thought it was the solar flare, however, att and Verizon work pretty closely on the mHz spectrum. So nope.
Then I assumed a hack and I’m still at this theory.
I’d suggest we all get walkie talkies or some other communication devices.
I’m nervous for the next year.
