AT&T fiber is finally available in my neighborhood and they're offering great deals to sign up. Problem is that my house, like most, is only wired with coax. Their installers aren't likely to run the fiber to my network closet, right? They'll just run it to the easiest point of entry and try to set up their equipment/gateway there? Anyone had this done?

I would imagine they would run it to wherever you asked them to put it. LUS fiber did that for me. Maybe not though

yes that is how they try to do it..... unless you tell them specifically where to run it.

They installed mine in my hall closet where my modem was previously.

yes, they mount a fiber junction box on the side of your house and run the fiber into where you specify them

i bought me a in wall plastic media panel and put it in the laundry room, i dropped CAT6 into all the rooms and rerouted the coax cables to the panel.

This panel is designed to normally be installed before the drywall installed, but you can draw the outline including the tabs on the side and cut that out. The trim on the door will cover it nicely.
It's good bit of work, but worth the effort

Cox used existing phone line to pull fiber to the modem. Didn’t have to mess with my coax. Who uses landlines anyway?

Why is this being downvoted? He literally tied the fiber to the line and then pulled the phone line out and the fiber through from the attic to that phone jack. No new holes and I don’t use landline so one missing jack is no biggy.
