ASUS laptop - Wifi Issues

Recently bought an Asus Vivobook laptop.. During the initial setup, Windows asks you to connect to wifi, but when I entered the credentials it kept telling me the "security key is incorrect". I also tried logging on to our guest wifi and same issue. Keep in mind there are dozens of other devices -- including other laptops -- having no issue connecting
I finished setting up Windows without internet, then started updating drivers, changing DNS settings, I changed the WiFi password, reset the routers, etc.. Pretty much all of the obvious stuff I can think of
I was finally able to get it to connect to the Wifi, but one of two things constantly happens:
1. I have internet but it only works intermittently on certain websites. Ex. ESPN works, but the NBA standings page wouldn't load. Yahoo, Google, etc. all work, but Tigerdroppings would say "Could Not Load Page"
2. I have internet that works without issue, but will drop the connection randomly, and when I try to reconnect it starts the whole "the network key isnt correct" nonsense
Is there some obvious software issue I'm missing? Or should I just return this turd..?
ETA: All firewalls are turned off at this point

Assume home network is simple setup and you have dhcp. Laptop pulling IP? Have you tried hardwiring laptop?

Make sure it is connecting to your wifi and make sure you haven't hit a device limit.
You don't have a brother named Derek by any chance?

Will try hardwire tonight and see what happens
Yes network is as simple as they come.
Also any time the laptop goes to sleep from inactivity, when you wake it back up it shows No Internet for a few moments before sometimes reconnecting automatically

Hadn't considered this.. Any idea where to find out what the device limit is for ATT Fiber Internet 1000 plan?

Router/AP specific from my experience but I always get my own AP. A quick search shows 10 connected devices is at least one limit I've seen. That can get eaten up quickly in a house with 4 people between phones, laptops, smart TVs, steaming devices (like a chromecast, appleTv, or firetv), echo dot, google mini, tablets, etc.

Should I move all of the smart plugs and stuff to the guest wifi?

Don't think that would matter, the number of devices is in total I think. Not sure that is definitely your problem though. The 10 limit is old but AT&T is not known for being up with the times. Might be easier to tie in a separate AP.
Do you have the model number of what is providing your WiFi (and I assume DHCP).

It's the crowd favorite BGW210-700 router that AT&T provides to fiber customers

Just looked and it's set to 80, but we're nowhere near that.

Usually, when I see this kind of problem it's with interfering routers. I'd try setting your AT&T gateway to passthrough mode, turning off wifi on the gateway, and using a mesh network setup to handle your wifi needs.

Can also check your DHCP pool of what it's handing out....and the dns setting on the gateway, which will be part of client connection/config...also check your NIC on laptop to make sure power management is turned off
