Is there really a market for either?

I imagine there is, for both.

AI:
-I think a lot of people would like to be able to ask Siri to find a new show/movie for them to watch without having to search themselves. For example, "Hey Siri, find me a crime thriller mini series that takes place in Europe and has more than 1 season."

For gaming:
-I assume a lot of young kids who don't have consoles/gaming PCs currently play games on Apple TV. If the new chip is a significant improvement, maybe you'll see PS4/Switch-level games made available?

Typical boring announcement that has happened under Cook, but Apple TVs are usually in a different announcement than phones and watches.

They kind of just threw in the iPhone air along with regular and pro 17s as they likely couldn’t yet get that design to be the new design template for the iPhone 17. Maybe Cooke didn’t want to mess with his supply chain.

If I had any other option besides google (or china owned) I would jump from Apple. I still might as I have needed a new phone, but I cannot justify buying an iPhone as long as Apple refuses to fix the map app not showing the true and usually more up to date satellite view when a city has the flyover/3D satellite view. Tapping 2D used to switch to the true satellite view but now it just rotates view of the 3D view which is usually out of date compared to satellite view available which can still be seen using devices stuck at iOS 15, on Macs, and when going thru multiple steps to use the report something missing reporting process in the app (is in smaller window and not functional besides dropping a pin to include where the missing place is). Satellite view currently still doesn’t show the Terrance St exit in I110 in Baton Rouge at any stage of construction making it last updated around 2018 or earlier. When you zoom into to see the Amazon Fulfillment center in Pontiac Michigan you see satellite view switch to and then be stuck in the pre 2017 view of the falling apart Pontiac Silverdome.

And this is such a huge issue for you why?

I use Apple Maps all day everyday for navigation all around the world and never had a problem. Usually if I just want to see a satellite view map I’ll pull up google maps kind of out of habit.

It’s lazy for one especially when they refuse to update the faux 3D satellite view as frequently as they update the regular satellite view. The satellite data is there and downloaded onto phone as I mentioned I can do a work around and see it in reporting something missing process (or check on older device using ios15), but be it a bug or choice Apple will not allow it to be viewed in the standard way like was possible in iOS 15 and earlier by just tapping 2D.

I don’t usually use directions from the Map app while driving and usually look it up beforehand including using the satellite views to get a general picture in my head of some things will look at key points.

I have not used Google Maps in 6 to 8 years on any device and try to block google on the phone I carry around with me including blocking the googleapis apple tries to use to upload and download to and from iCloud (eventually it switches to AWS or Akamai). If I have to use google to easily view the current and available satellite images that was the 2D default for Apple Maps up thru iOS 15 instead being forced to view the faux ones made for 3D flyover purposes that can be 5 to 10 years old then the advantage of using Apple to not use google on my main phone is diminished.

I am more anti-google than pro-apple at this point, but Apple keeps disappointing with one thing or another making them more even every day which is why I have held on to current phone longer than usual. It’s currently choking on iOS 26, and I will have to decide on something before too long. I would really prefer a valid 3rd option.
