One thing to be aware of now that you are a drone owner. In general terms, people don’t like drones flying around them. It will really freak people in a neighborhood out of your drone is flying low and around them if they can’t see who is flying it. When I fly around my neighborhood, I do so in my front driveway so that everyone can see that I am not trying to be shady. I also do not follow people and do not fly low over back yards.
I say all that to say, just be mindful of people’s privacy. They will call the police if you are not careful.

I understand that.

For sure. Fwiw, if I did piss someone off I would get a phone call from my father (Sheriff). Especially now since I sent him a picture of my purchase

Most people know me in my immediate neighborhood, but I will def go high when actually flying.

Alright just got to fly the mini for the first time. I only got a few minutes because it is pretty windy today, but very happy from those few minutes. I got up about 30 ft and could see an amazing distance away from my back yard looking into a field. I saw the wind warning before I had a chance to take a picture. I will try to go back out in a bit and get one. Still nervous as hell not wanting to wreck it.

Main problem with mini is lack of obstacle avoidance. You will crash it

I bet I will, I was nervous as hell when the wind warning came up. Went back out and got a few pictures. I did buy the dji care (1 yr), $39 for up to two replacements. Sucks its windy today 16-20 mph winds

I always ignore the wind warnings.

Use your judgement. Anything under 20 mph is manageable, just dont take it too high

Yeah had a feeling of, I'm gonna crap myself if this comes screaming down at my fire pit or roof
. Was excited to get that sucker up.

You will soon be brave enough to fly it out of line of sight. After you do that a couple times, you will start making serious flights and that is when it will get fun!

I have decided to buy the DJI mini. 2 flymore combo. I know I need to get SD card but not sure what else I need. Not tech savvy so suggestions would be nice. Will get the DJI care after I buy it but not sure if I need the scan disk reader. Will the disk hook up to computer without it, I would think not.

I have a mini. It's ok. At first I was a bit disappointed that I didn't get better distance out of it because I had seen tests that showed huge distances. If there is anything in the way, you won't get near the distance advertised.
That doesn't make it a bad little drone though. It takes nice video and is very easy to handle. Sometimes it's a little small to find in the sky. I'm still scared to crash mine everytime I fly it but I'm sure that will go away eventually.

I am getting the mini 2 because I want to learn how to take photos when I travel. Do not want to spend more than the cost of this one to learn. May get a better one if I enjoy this one. Do I need to get the Scandisk an a reader to be able to download photos to my phone or computer.

Did you get an SD card and reader and if wo which one?
Posted on 12/23/20 at 9:33 pm to jerryc436
Get at least a 64gig card minimum.
If you plan on doing lots of serious videos and photography, get the reader. You will be able to Bluetooth download from your drone to your phone. That is fine for most daily applications. Long videos will take a while. That is when you might want to use a reader.
The reader is an optional thing.
