Specifically the newest version? I am looking at getting the 8gb RAM 256GB version. Ive seen good reviews from multiple places just seeing if anyone here has anything good/bad to say about this version. TIA

My daughter has one, great machine. Thin, light, great screen. Like it better than the Mac/Airbook

I've got the surface pro laptop. Really great piece of machinery that I'm glad I purchased.

Just got it and love it. I’ve got a desktop with dual monitors at work so I use it for travel and work from home and it’s perfect for that.

If you’re using it as your main work computer, I’d look elsewhere. Not because it’s not fast or anything but because of it’s strengths with on the go use. The add ons are slightly frustrating (keyboard, pen, and mouse) but all worth it IMO.

I’d make sure you get the I7 processor. From what I researched and was told, it’s well worth the extra cost. I have the exact specs you listed and with the I7 processor. It has a spot on the back where you can buy a memory card and add additional storage. The cards are pretty cheap compared to the jump to 500+GB

Let me know if you have any specific questions. I’m an average joe on knowledge of tech but can explain further on the ins and outs of day to day usage. I’d highly recommend getting it

Also, I did start a thread the other day about returning it haha but only because of the intel chip hack/breach (whatever it was). But as I mentioned in the thread, I love it and will not be returning it

I have the i5 8gb 256

Just picked it up before Christmas.

It's the 4th SP I've owned. Best tablet on the market imo.

My son is looking at one for college. Is 4 mb enough memory? That is what will fit in his budget.

Say no to 4mb and 64bit Windows OS which is what you would be getting. The minute the thing boots up it will grab about 3gb leaving you 1gb for apps. After that it will hit the swap file and you will say, why is this so slow.

A lot of people seem to like them. I had a Surface Pro 2 with specs lie that for a while for work but wasn't a big fan. Maybe they have gotten better.

My general decision point seems to be a device that is around 8-9.7 inches. Anything that size or smaller prefer to use as a tablet with the on screen keyboard. Anything larger, I prefer the form factor of an actual laptop...but in that form factor I prefer it to have a proper keyboard and mouse. Still using my old Lenovo X220 - the last laptop with a real physical keyboard - for that reason.
