Why do people want to hear songs they’ve heard 100-1000 times already? If you don’t, I suggest deleting all streaming apps and just ask Alexa for music without an Amazon Music account and she’s actually good.
Still, why do people want to hear the same shite over and over? I was that way too until I found a better way to listen, involving actual listening.
Imagine Netflix or Max only suggesting movies you’ve seen 1000 times already.

Well, because the same songs I've heard 1k times cause a particular feeling in me, which I desire. I want familiar to "program" into situations of my life. I have a playlist, which hasn't really changed in ten years, for my drive to the gym. It's different than what I listen to in the gym. No variability required.
Ah, W.A.S.P.'s "The Real Me," I know exactly if it is appropriate for whatever iron I'm about to move (max effort different than dynamic or Olympic, deadlifts are a special category, or is it accessory work?) Oh, a new song from Imagine Dragons I'm going to go through my setup routine for. No. A Megadeth song I've heard 4k times, I have it down.

Love me the old Mustaine but isn’t it better when it’s a suprise? Nobody ever went to a show to tell them what to play. It’s 2026. Music could be good and interesting but dominating services and habits hold it back.
I asked ai about a song I head a few minutes ago, lullaby by Bennettt and the bass drop. Turns out the whole thing is mapped and can suggest on the melodic movements not just the generic take. Were set up to do better but get lowest common denominator instead.

I like songs and music because of the beat or rhythm it has. So when I find a new song (new to me and not necessarily "new") I get addicted to it and can't stop listening to it. I am still fairly young and still discovering "new to me" classic rock songs that just bang. I listen to them over and over and over again. While not classic rock, I am currently hooked on Outlaw Woman by Hank and Dani California by Red Hot Chili Peppers. I know... very drastic in taste LOL

I listen to "stations" with a lot of mediocrity just to occasionally hear something new and great. Gotta kiss a lot of frogs.
