Amazon distribution center going to Bessemer

For those with distribution centers in your city or very close by, does this mean same day or next day deliveries on anything marked as Prime two day? Or will they sit on it and still get it to us on day 2-3 like they do now?

I would think it depends what you order, and if that DC carries it or not.
But yes you could be getting stuff same day.
Amazon local delivery is kinda sketch though. I have a friend in dallas that posts every time an order gets stolen due to boxes being left at her apt door. Like I've seen like 5 times in a month. She's had to think twice on what she orders via amazon prime since she travels for work a lot.
She's even had stuff dropped off at like midnight, hearing the door knock waking her up.

Sounds like it is not Amazon local delivery that is sketch but your friend neighborhood.

Yeah I've been having Amazon leave boxes on my doorstep at my house for years. Never had a package stolen.
1)She must live in a shitty apartment complex
2)She must not be very bright to figure out how an Amazon locker works

Judge much darlin?
1) nice complex from what I can tell - probably pays 1500/month+
2) aggie grad and bright enough to pay 1500/month+ on her own for a place. She should be able to trust the delivery person can leave it with the complex office, and not come by at stupid odd hours,
I dont know where this OP lives, so gave him an example to take into consideration.

Just saying...if you are having 5 packages stolen within a month...the wise thing would be to find another option(Amazon locker).
Not continue doing the same thing and bitching about it on fb like an idiot.
And clearly...the complex isn't THAT nice if there is that much theft going on.

Yeah it was more a stretch of time she was having problems not to long ago. I dont keep that much tabs on it, so she could have figured something out or just stopped ordering from amazon.
It's a nice place from what I could tell, but more the "younger college kids" mixed in kind of thing.
And Dallas definitely has nice areas that are starting to push out and close to bad areas, so "going shopping" at night on the other side of the tracks is being seen more and more.

Depends on what the FC type is, small items vs bigger slower moving inventory as well as what your order looks like compared to regional buying habits. If you're in bama and order LSU gear it likely won't be same day.

The things I enjoy from LA are coffee, beer, and Tiger Droppings. Only one can I get from amazon.

Then she must not be bright enough to type this onto the delivery instructions. Literally a place just for this. But go ahead and blame the delivery guy who is delivering it exactly how the buyer said to.

I have two distribution centers within 40 minutes of my house in DFW, and i get a ton of stuff within a 2 hour window, including beer and wine

Don't shoot down the drones flying over your house

I heard on the radio this morning that it's a distribution center to send shite to other nearby distribution centers...so it sounds like it's just a middle man facility and won't actually be delivering out of there? Either way, I doubt it gets us same day delivery.

I read this earlier, and it is a fulfillment center.

When is this bitch supposed to open? I'd imagine 2020?

Have 2 distribution centers in jacksonville and it does seem like my packages do arrive sooner now or within the 2 day window with prime.
