Where did you buy it? Were you able to compare the picture side by side with LG, Sony, etc?

I bought the LG 65uj6300 a year ago and have been very happy with it. It's definitely lower than your price range

Vizio won't last as long? I have a 5 year old 70" that says FU

My parents have a vizio that I gave them that was purchased in 2007. Still running strong and gets used quite a bit everyday.
Sure it's not a cinema quality picture but there aren't any dead pixels or issues with the panel.

shite, I've got one that's almost 10 years old and the only issue is it's ghosted really bad. Literally, there is a permanent face of a specter looking off to the right and up slightly.

That's too bad. I have Panny Plasma that is eleven years old and has a picture as incredible now as when I had it calibrated in 2007. A couple of times a year I run a program on it to keep it clear of ghosting and burn in. Have you tried that?

Nothing wrong with vizio. Even if it lasts 5 years the technology changes so fast you'll want something else soon. Don't spend 2000 bucks on a tv that won't give you a return that is worth it. Im a fan of LG, Samsung, and Sony in that order as far as work goes. I'm career, sharp doesn't hold up to our usage. Those three brands do well but being we will swap tv's out about every 5 to 7 years there is no point in spending money on the latest and greatest.

I'm shopping deals for an LG or a Sony 65" TV $1000 or below.
Good luck getting a decent 65 inch under $1000. Your price range is more Vizio, Emerson, RCA.

Awesome. I think that's the one I'm thinking about also. LGs just have the best picture for some reason...

Not under $1000, but... the Vizio P65-E1 is on sale at Costco for $1199.00. They are closing out in anticipation of new models to be announced. That's a really decent price for one of the highest rated models of 2017 with HDR, HDR10 and Dolby Vision, and with 126 zone FALD. That's enough to make me consider whether I want to wait for the TCL or get this Vizio deal.

Just keep checking for open box specials at Best Buy. I got a 55" 4K Toshiba with a helluva picture for $330 last year
