Just an FYI, if you subscribe to Spotify premium you get 3 months for 99 cents. Then you can upgrade your regular account to a family plan for free. They bump it down to only 2 months, but will send you a link for a free home mini.

Alternatively, amazon was doing this with amazon music as well and receive an echo dot for a $1

Do you have to enter all your credit card information and then remember to cancel the service? Or can I cancel immediately after or right after I receive the Google Mini?

I used paypal. It's a good idea to not cancel the service until after the mini has shipped.

Ok I did the premium for 3 months at 99 cents. How do I upgrade to the family plan for free? It's showing the Premium for Family at $14.99 to get a Google Home Mini? Does this automatically get waived at the checkout screen?

It showed me that too, but I hit submit where it said it was charging 14.99 and it didn't charge it, it just took my 3 month promo and made it 2 months

It says "1 month recurring" when I get to the PayPal checkout screen...is that what yours said too?

Honestly, I don't remember exactly what it said, but it definitely showed 14.99 all the way through the payment process. It never charged me the 14.99, and when I looked at my account it showed only 2 months before the first recurring payment

I got an email from Spotify with a link to the Google store. I selected the mini color I wanted and went to checkout, it showed 49 bucks until I got to the actual checkout menu and it automatically applied the code.

Got me one in the Chalk color! Also, set a reminder to cancel January 31st since the plan is set to renew on Feb 1st. I'll probably just cancel it a few days earlier than that just to be safe. Thanks again OP! We have several Alexa devices, but I've been wanting to try Google's too.

I received a free Home mini when I bought an Nvidia Shield from Best Buy a few weeks ago.
