WTH? I purchased with 128 GB drive... Anyone know the best way to clear up space?
I have most of my files stored on OneDrive too. Do I just delete those same files from the C drive? Delete the recovery partition? What? Thanks for any help you guys can offer...

Delete shite that you do not need.
Maybe leave the recovery partition alone.

Go to your downloads folder and delete everything there. And check your temp folder
128gb isn't much at all, especially since only about ~100gb is usable
Edit: you can always get a large SD card to put in it

Thanks. Can I just move my files from C drive to the SD card? guess that would work, but its my mistake for buying a small C drive. I guess I just have to keep it clean and use the SD card and OneDrive.. thanks for the help... I'm sure others have had the same issue with the Surface...

Stuff like pictures, applications, etc. Don't just copy and paste your whole C drive over

Your OneDrive is likely causing the problem with storage. I noticed same issue on my laptop.
Microsoft changed their OneDrive settings. Previously, if you had a OneDrive folder on your computer, the files were not a part of your storage.
Now, if you have a OneDrive folder on your computer, it stores a copy of every file, taking up space. In my case, my music and pictures were eating up my storage space (which is why I used OneDrive). You can limit this by selecting which OneDrive folders you want to make online only.
If there are folders you don't use often, then don't sync them. If you need to access all of your files, use the OneDrive website.

Get a free copy of WizTree to see what is taking up the space. I'll bet its Windows Search (Indexing). Turn it off and delete via WizTree.

ding ding ding winner
Throw a 400gb sandisk card in there and forget about it.
Store all your media on the SD card, actual important stuff on C drive.

Try WinDirStat to see the largest files and folders on your system.
A quick thing to try is C:\Windows\Temp to make sure something isn't filling it up. Our old A/V was bad about filling the folder up when the updater would corrupt.
If this was an upgrade you can delete C:\Windows.old (but be warned that there will be some drivers that point to it, so they will not delete until you reinstall them and you won't know which drivers until you try deleting the folder).

I usually run Temp File Cleaner and it resolves the issue. Much easier than searching your system to try an figure out where the problem is...
You can download it from Bleepingcomputer.com
Link to TFC program download page

You dont think TEMP in temp file cleaner gives away where it's cleaning files from?

Yes, smartass - but it's cleaning more than one "temp" file folder. You may feel free to search your hard drive for all the different places Windows puts temp files...I've had better results using this tool.
And I've seen windows routinely show that a drive is full when the individual directories do not show the same size properties. TFC clears up this issue.

128 gb is very small.
I have some clients windows folder at 50 GB.
