Regarding Gonzalez, I agree with you. He's Gooch, circa 2004(ish) right now. There's good and bad associated with that.

If nothing else, if he progresses we get 2005-2009 Gooch out of him in the next cycle.

That's a great comparison I haven't even considered. Hats off to Sheep.

I realize I'm way premature on Brooks. And I don't know if I'd be comfortable with that back line at all. Just spitballing.

I've read that JAB is not very good in the air. He has the physical tools. Just isn't that good, yet.

Shake off the haters on Adu's behalf man. They'll regret the lack of respeck they are giving Freddy next year in Brazil.

Not sure why people are leaving off Holden. Don't we have an entire year for him to get back to form? He looked okay to me last week.

I think I'd like to see a sample size larger than eight minutes.

it was a really poor 8 minutes too, if we're being honest.

gave the ball away at least 4 times, didn't make any tackles. to be expected though.

Being realistic, I'd like to see:

Adu would be a dream to have in form and clicking. I'd slide Deuce out to LM and have him tuck inside all match, and let Adu run the CAM all game.
I'm still holding out hope that someone like Brek Shea, or Benny Feilhaber, 2 guys with unique skillsets, can get their shite together in the next year and make the trip.

mids: Zusi, Holden, Shea, Pelosi (optimistic)
forwards: Johnson, Gomez

you can move dempsey or adu or donovan up top if need be.

and adu haters gonna hate.

Marc Pelosi is going to be a beast in the near future.

I always want the American youth to do well. But, we will see. He is a liverpool academy product. However, he did break his leg recently and is trying to come back from it. I thought? BPG/TFTC, is a really good Pool poster, he may know.

This kid isn't going to be on the WC roster.

Didn't realize he played so poorly. Thought he made a nice couple of passes in limited touches and was happy he didn't crumple up and die in MF.

I've come to the conclusion that Klinsmann doesn't like Adu, so I don't ever plan to see him in a USA jersey while he is still the coach.

I'm just really optimistic, but you are probably right. Didn't he injured it in like Decemeber or something?

What ever happened to Joe Gyau?

Pelosi had successful surgery back in February to fix his broken leg.

I'd like to believe that if Adu can get into some good form and get real PT over the next year that he'd at least have an outside shot of getting called into a camp later down the road?
He's only 23, and a true playmaker.

Agree. Omar's mental lapses are as bad as I've seen from someone so talented.

He did.

quote:

Liverpool U21 and U.S. youth international Marc Pelosi injured his leg in a match against West Brom. The injury can be seen in the video above and comes in at around the 9:20 mark. It’s pretty obvious to tell by his and everyone else’s reaction that the injury is severe. There is a good chance that Pelosi will be out for at least 9-12 months. The young American then took to his twitter account to thank his fans for all the support.

I think Marc will be very good as well but in his case alone right now he still is in our academy this is a good and bad thing for him. Our academy at the moment is very talented and only improving so there might be the case that he isn't seeing the PT he needs to develop like he should.

I hope Dolo is back there. He's still by far the best US defender imo.

That 11 only works in a 4-2-3-1 with Bradley and Jones deep, Fab - Deuce - Donovan, and Altidore up top.

------------Altidore---------------

Fab---------Duece---------Donovan

-------Bradley-Jones-------------

Chander-Besler-Gonzo-Cherundolo

-------------Howard------------

Beasley could start at LB, Chandler could start at RB, Zusi could start inplace of LD. Biggest variables, IMO.
