Not even saying this because I want it to happen, but they may be 2 cycles away from crashing hard.

They aren't getting anything from their youth right now. Lainez doesn't play at all for Betis.

We're in a battle over a 15 year old that Man City has already purchased an option to acquire when he turns 18.

I think it happens sooner than 2 cycles.

He seems to be firmly pro Mexico at this point but we will see. We still haven’t really lost a dual nat that’s been worth a damn.

I mean cool, but if Mexico gets him, it's not like he will fix their youth problem.

This. Lozano is their only real bright young star. As good as he is, he can’t operate alone once all the Mexican Natty members leave within the next six years. They are peaking at a bad time in comparison to us, and are peering over a cliff.

I think the changes that were made to CONCACAF WC qualifying were to cushion their landing once the train barged off that cliff. They know the USMNT is on a sharp rise right now in terms of talent, and wanted to ensure they qualified for both of the next two cycles for certain to maintain lockstep with the US as one of two premier powers in the federation.

I can almost taste the win in Azteca already. Dos-a-cero

Steven Goff
@SoccerInsider

Wolfsburg II's Michael Edwards, a former D.C. United academy center back, is drawing interest stateside, I'm told. DCU holds his MLS rights. Could land in DC or elsewhere via trade. Turns 20 Friday. Contract up in June. Five starts in German 4th tier this fall.

Andrew Carleton is now a free agent. Atlanta declined to pick up his option. Also cut ties with another former USYNT player, Lagos Kunga.

Dest, Reyna and McKennie all starting today.

RBL's XI isn't out yet, but expect to see Adams on there.

@3rdDegreeNet

Thomas Roberts has played his first game in Scotland.

Roberts played with Hibernian's reserve team who won 2-0 against Stenhousemuir (a 2nd div team). Thomas scored the second goal.

Roberts will now join the Hibs first team on Thursday.
