Way more nerve racking than a free throw in basketball. And I don't see anyone complaining about those being to easy.

I was going to use that same example. I completely agree.

I honestly don't see what people have against penalty kicks.

The last two years have featured PKs after extra time in Texas High School soccer. We did away with the "dribble-ups" after the 2012 season. Players started from 35 yards out and had 5 seconds to take as many touches as they could.

Make it more skill and less luck for the goalies?

The thing about PKs is that its not all luck for goalies like a lot of people think. Sure, there is a little bit of luck. But all sports have some luck in them. But choosing which way to go for the keeper is the only thing that is "lucky" about it. And its a 50/50 chance anyways. But,after the goalie jumps to a certain side, its all about reaction time and getting enough on the ball to keep it from going through the posts. Which is all skill.

And a lot of people think PKs are about the makes... its not. Its about the stops / misses. If the 5 players for each team make their PKs, it keeps going and going and going til someone makes a save or misses the PK. You cant win the match by everyone making their PKs. You can when the match by a goalie save or someone missing. And I like that.

No that would be horrible. 22 yard shot woth a stationary ball is extremely difficult. One goal would win and it would take a while

I wouldn't be opposed to it if you could have a running start and just had to shoot from behind the line.
