for sure. and you'd be better because of it, but funny that you'd only be improving strengths (well, other than CB) rather than attempting to patch holes.

i'm still pissed you guys beat us bc of the flu, a freaking set piece, and the RvP and Rooney being fit in the same match. the loss becomes more and more frustrating every week.

I want to know what is going to happen at left back, because I don't have a lot of faith in Buttner.

i mean i know you loved talking about how phil jones "shut down" ozil but yes, flu played a role. per and rosicky were out with the flu, ozil and arteta had it but played. ozil was sent home from the German national team because of it.

there are lots of unfortunate factors which influence matches. injuries, illness, etc. part of the game. hell, we got fourth a few years back in large part because tottenham got sick on the last day.

all i'm saying is, based on your injury issues this season, it's unfortunate we caught you in one of the few matches you were pretty much full strength and we weren't.

As a United fan, what would you think if they went after someone like Dejan Lovren to help in the back (pre-recent injury) and Yann M'vila for midfield? Both are relatively young and I think could be snagged from their current clubs. JMO

ETA: Ok, maybe Lovren would be tough since he was a summer signing, I guess replace him with N'Koulou?

Yann M'vila

i told 'pool fans this a month or so ago, he isn't as talented as the early hype he received IMO. lots of talented shitheads get second, third, and fourth chances. there's a reason Arsenal passed on him multiple times, there's a reason he's in Russia, and there's a reason no one has bought him from Kazan yet. he'd be a pretty huge gamble for a team that needs more of a sure thing at this point.

What OBUfan said. Early on he was a good prospect but after he's acquired a reputation and still has yet to prove himself. We really need a SURE bet which I really hate. We haven't been in a position to make stop gap transfers very often but this is probably one of them.

Speaking of, Derek Riordan is about to sign for Royal Antwerp in Belgium's second tier.

Those are the types of players United need, but not exactly those guys per se.

Jose is not going to sell Mata to another BPL team. Not a fricking chance.

setting a new United record transfer fee on mata is a bit absurd

Why? Its not like he'd be selling Mata to a title contender.

Yeah. It's not like he's Arsene Wenger.

Question: wouldn't it be likely that Mata signs for Utd and has a similar role as at Chelsea? Utd don't necessarily have a place for him either. IMO
