Liverpool would have been wrecking shop and set up a massive advantage over everyone else.
it goes in waves, its funny when pool fans call others bandwagon when their club is just as successful and has just as many fans. Its just been a trendy thing of late for new fans to the game to follow them. But they will be back.

Dear God can we not turn this into the bandwagon argument. Every Chelsea, ManUnited, Arsenal, Liverpool, Bayern, Barca, Real etc... fan on this site is in some way a bandwagon fan and none are any better than the rest.

Chelsea, £673 million — 12 trophies — 3 Premier League titles (2o05, 2006, 2010), 1 Champions League (2012), 4 FA Cups (2007, 2009, 2010, 2012), 2 League Cups (2005, 2007) and 2 Community Shields (2005, 2009).
Manchester City, £572 million — 3 trophies — 1 Premier League title (2012), 1 FA Cup (2011) and 1 Community Shield (2012).
Liverpool, £414 million — 6 trophies — 1 Champions League (2005), 1 UEFA Super Cup (2005), 1 FA Cup (2006), 2 League Cups (2003, 2012) and 1 Community Shield (2006).
Manchester United, £352 million — 16 trophies — 5 Premier League titles (2003, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011), 1 Champions League (2008), 1 FA Cup (2004), 3 League Cups (2006, 2009, 2010), 5 Community Shields (2003, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011) and 1 FIFA Club World Cup (2008).
since 2003. transfer argument is a stupid conversation to have with us man utd fans. we've spent less and won more. nothing to talk about really. now as far as youth academy. now is less than previous years, but still better than most.

I agree. We have some of the absolute worst fans on the planet. Just complete airheads who are on the same level as middle school Miami Heat fans.

then why were you talking shite in the other thread
Posted on 5/5/13 at 5:22 pm to StraightCashHomey21
Well it doesn't really go in waves as much anymore. ManU's wave coincided with an ability to truly maximize profits in a meaningful and permanent way.
No one has just as many fans as ManU. ManU dominates whole continents. That's a fact. Liverpool isn't even close.
And yeah Randy, in the sense that very few of us have any real connection with any of these clubs, we're all bandwagoners, but there certainly are levels to that. Not all bandwagoners are created equal.

false but ok. Teams like United,Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea games are full of tourist.
Posted on 5/5/13 at 5:30 pm to StraightCashHomey21
You must be kidding. Or I'm just not understanding you. Obviously a bunch of teams have tourists, but in sheer number of fans, ManU trumps everyone. By a lot. There's a reason they have a large, large amount more in commercial revenue than anyone else.

What episode of curb your enthusiam was that?
Posted on 5/5/13 at 5:32 pm to Friend of OBUDan
your statement that United dominates europe is not true.
In england sure, there is a running joke about most united fans not being from manchester.

Not really. I picked them because they have the most hardcore fans in the BPL and when I went over there for a game I had the time of my life as Newcastle is a very fun town.
